After two long weeks of intense sailing against the best youth sailors in the world on San Francisco Bay, five teams have emerged from the pool of twelve to earn the right to compete for the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup. Team Tilt (Switzerland), ROFF/Cascais Sailing Team (Portugal), Full Metal Jacket Racing (New Zealand), STG/NRV Youth Team (Germany), and Objective Australia (Australia) will fill the final five slots in the field of ten teams who will compete for the Cup, September 1-4.
These qualifiers are joining the five teams who are being supported by the America’s Cup World Series teams: Energy Team/Name TBC (France), Emirates Team New Zealand/Name TBC (New Zealand), Artemis Racing/Sweden Youth Challenge (Sweden), ORACLE TEAM USA/American Youth Sailing Force (San Francisco), and ORACLE TEAM USA/Team USA45 Racing (USA).
Team USA45 Racing would like to extend a congratulations and a job well done to the qualifying teams, who we look forward to meeting and racing with this summer in San Francisco!
An extra special thank you as well to those teams who did not qualify, who undoubtably sailed to the best of their abilities and truly raised the level of competition during the Selection Series to elite status for this world class event. We look forward to sailing against you in the near future!
